This was the third time we have delivered this Semana 59, with this particular passage involving flying to Panama to take over the vessel from the owners before continuing the delivery across the Pacific to Tahiti.
Repeated deliveries aboard the same yacht are always operationally useful because the vessel’s systems, handling characteristics, and offshore routines are already familiar before departure. That becomes particularly valuable on larger Pacific crossings where reliability, fuel management, and onboard systems all play a significant role over extended time offshore.
After taking over the yacht, preparation focused on provisioning, final systems checks, and passage planning before departing into the Pacific. Crossings on this route are heavily influenced by seasonal weather patterns and the distances involved once committed westbound towards NZ.
The Fountaine Pajot Semana 59 handled the passage extremely well. Boats in this category are designed for long-range offshore cruising with substantial onboard volume and good offshore comfort, making them well suited to extended Pacific relocation work.
Approaching land after a Pacific crossing is always a major milestone operationally simply due to the scale and isolation of the route involved.
At Yacht Delivery Solutions, long-range offshore catamaran deliveries on Fountaine Pajot Cats form a regular part of our international yacht relocation operations.
