This Dufour 385 was launched in Opua before being delivered to Fiji.
As the yacht had recently been launched, part of the preparation involved carrying out final checks and sea trials around the Bay of Islands to ensure everything was operating as expected before committing to the offshore passage.
The Dufour 385 is a practical cruising yacht with good sailing performance and a comfortable layout for extended passages. Once underway, the yacht settled into the trip well and proved to be an enjoyable boat to sail. And very similar to the Dufour 56 we delivered on the same route.
The passage from New Zealand to Fiji is one of the classic South Pacific delivery routes, requiring careful weather planning and departure timing. After departing Opua, the yacht completed the crossing successfully and was delivered to Fiji as planned.
