Fountaine Pajot Tanna 47

This Fountaine Pajot Tanna 47 was the second time we had delivered the vessel. Having previously moved the yacht for the owner, we were once again asked to relocate it, this time from New Zealand to Fiji.

Fountaine Pajot Tanna 47 Delivery from New Zealand to Fiji

We are experienced Fountaine Pajot catamaran delivery skippers with extensive offshore multihull delivery experience.

Repeat multihull deliveries are always useful because the vessel is already familiar before departure. We already knew the systems, sailing characteristics and operational setup aboard this Fountaine Pajot Tanna 47, allowing preparation to focus on the passage itself rather than learning a new boat.

The route from New Zealand to Fiji is a common seasonal movement for cruising catamarans heading back into the tropics. Timing is important, with departure planned around suitable weather patterns to make the most of the passage north into warmer waters.

The Tanna 47 proved once again why it has become one of Fountaine Pajot‘s most popular cruising catamarans. The combination of comfortable living space, good storage capacity and practical offshore performance makes it well suited to extended cruising throughout the South Pacific.

Once clear of New Zealand, the yacht settled into a steady offshore routine. Daily weather analysis, watchkeeping and vessel inspections remained the focus as we worked our way north towards Fiji. Conditions generally become more favourable as vessels leave the higher latitudes and move into the trade wind belt.

Arriving in Fiji completed our second delivery aboard this particular Fountaine Pajot Tanna 47. Repeat assignments like this provide valuable familiarity with both the vessel and the owner’s requirements, something that is increasingly useful as yachts continue to move between New Zealand and the South Pacific island cruising grounds and La Rochelle.
