  • Norfolk Island (less common, adds distance)

Best for: Conservative routing, weather avoidance strategy

Mid-Passage Approach

• Transition from variable Tasman/South Pacific lows into more stable trade winds
• Final approach into Fiji typically from the south or southwest
• Entry clearance at ports such as Savusavu or Lautoka

• Critical factor: Departure timing from New Zealand
• Aim to leave on the back of a passing low for favorable winds
