This Oceanis 351 was a straightforward coastal delivery down New Zealand’s west coast to Wellington. Conditions were generally favourable, allowing us to make good progress south while keeping a close eye on the forecast around Cook Strait.
Before departure we completed our usual vessel checks, topped up fuel and provisions, and confirmed all onboard systems were operating correctly. The Oceanis 351 is a practical cruising yacht with predictable handling and proved comfortable throughout the passage.
Following arrival in Wellington, the yacht was handed over ready for its next stage of cruising. Deliveries such as this highlight the importance of good preparation and selecting the right weather window, even on relatively short coastal passages.
