Another Leopard 44 delivery completed, this time relocating the vessel from Tahiti to Auckland as part of a South Pacific offshore passage.
Departing from Tahiti, the route south toward New Zealand required careful seasonal weather planning, particularly once leaving the more stable tropical trade wind conditions and moving further into the stronger systems found approaching New Zealand waters.
The Leopard 44 handled the passage well and reinforced why these catamarans remain so common throughout the Pacific cruising fleet. Leopards are practical offshore boats with manageable sail handling, comfortable accommodation, and straightforward systems which suit longer relocation passages well.
Conditions became progressively cooler and more unsettled further south before arrival into Auckland, which is a fairly typical transition on passages from French Polynesia down into New Zealand at the end of a Pacific cruising season.
At Yacht Delivery Solutions, offshore catamaran deliveries in bound to New Zealand heading offshore are standard procedures for our skippers.
