For this multihull delivery, we joined the Lagoon 420 in Tahiti and prepared the yacht for the several-thousand-mile offshore passage to New Zealand.
The Lagoon 420 remains a popular cruising catamaran, offering a practical combination of accommodation, carrying capacity and offshore capability. Designed for extended cruising, the model is frequently encountered throughout the Pacific islands and has proven itself capable of handling long ocean passages between major cruising destinations.
Preparation in Tahiti focused on the normal offshore priorities of provisioning, safety equipment checks and system inspections. Once clear of French Polynesia, there are no convenient opportunities for repairs or resupply, making departure preparation particularly important.
After leaving Tahiti, the yacht settled into a steady offshore routine. Watchkeeping schedules, weather monitoring and sail management became the focus of daily operations.
