This Grand Ocean W60 was collected, prepared and delivered by the Yacht Delivery Solutions skipper following the completion of construction in Hong Kong. We completed the commissioning and delivery carrying out pre-departure preparation, systems checks and sea trials before commencing the voyage. Commissioning included verifying onboard systems, identifying and resolving minor defects, and ensuring the yacht was fully prepared for offshore operation.
Following commissioning, the yacht underwent sea trials to verify the performance of propulsion, steering, navigation and onboard systems under real operating conditions. As with many newly commissioned vessels, a number of minor adjustments and system checks were completed before departure to ensure the yacht was ready for extended offshore use. The delivery also provided an opportunity to identify any warranty items requiring attention, giving the owner and builder valuable feedback before the vessel entered regular service.
Delivering a brand new yacht is often very different from an established cruising vessel. Before departure, we spent time familiarising ourselves with the yacht, checking systems and ensuring the vessel was ready for the passage ahead.
One of the advantages of working with experienced yacht delivery skippers is the ability to identify and address minor issues before they become larger problems offshore. New yacht deliveries require careful preparation and attention to detail, particularly during the early stages of a vessel’s operational life.
